Joseph Simmons, Jr. aka Jo Jo, 19, son of the legendary rapper Rev. Run of Run DMC pled guilty to one charge of disorderly conduct after originally being charged with being in possession of a controlled substance and attempted reckless endangerment.
The teen star and rapper of Team Black was arrested in May after resisting arrest and was allegedly caught buying marijuana and rolling a joint sitting in his vehicle on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, as reported on HipHopRX.com.
On June 22, the MTV reality TV show Run’s House touched on Jo Jo’s arrest in which his father Reverend Run and Russell Simmons offered him counseling. “Weed makes you slow and stupid, its not good, its not healthful. It’s the opposite, it makes you unhappy… It makes you slow and stupid,” Uncle Russ told him.
“You know the problem with this is about when you go to jail you take your whole family to jail,” Rev Run told Jo Jo.
Rev Run went on to tell Jo Jo that he hurt the family and that he has to repair what he has done.
Jo Jo eventually apologized to his family and seemed to have realized the affect it had on his family as a whole and what his run-in with the law could cause in the future legally after his attorney advised him that he now has a rap sheet. Meanwhile, the charges have been dropped as a part of his plea deal and Jo Jo must serve one day of community service.--
R&B singer Beyonce and wife to hip hop artist Jay-Z, reportedly has stated that she wants a whole bunch of kids. The star who’s been currently on her ‘I Am…’ tour states that when she does anything, she does it really hard, which may give a lot of men some ideas.
In an interview with the Mirror, Beyonce was asked if any baby Beyoncé’s can be expected later this year and the music star stated, “Well, I’m an ambitious woman, and when I do anything, I do it really hard. If I work out, I work out really hard, if I love somebody, I love them all the way. I’m very loyal. I want a whole bunch of kids – but after I’ve got certain things out of my system first.”
On further into her interview, Beyonce also goes into a bunch other things from exercising to her daily diet which consists of bran cereal, salad for lunch, fish and vegetables for dinner along with fruits and yogurt covered almonds for a snack throughout the day.
In related news, Beyonce is currently on tour all Summer long and the “I Am…” tour is expected to end this Fall on September 24, 2009 in Perth, Australia at Burswood Dome.
The Game hit up the radio station 103 jamz to discuss his Beef with JayZ (even though The Game is the only one with a problem). Here is what The Game had to say:
"I ain't lost a rap beef to date, and when I say rap beef, I mean rap beef," Game said. "I ain't talking about no guns or shoot-outs or fighting. I'm just saying, this is hip-hop. It's a competition. We men. It's like football or basketball. It's competitive."
JayZ said his verse was not a diss on anybody,but The Game says that he is not going to be fooled by that. He is going to make something out of nothing.
"What better way to talk about somebody than to not talk about 'em? Why you gotta say you're not talking about 'em? If you're not talking about them, then you just don't talk about 'em. He's slick, man. You gotta watch that cat, man. I'm probably the only rapper in this world besides Nas that's really not scared to go at this dude's neck. He knows if he goes to war with me, then it's going to be never-ending, man."
The Game also talks about Jays age?
"Jay's problem is that some people just don't want to get old," Game said. "He got a problem like my dad got that problem. My dad, he just still trying to be young, like, rockin' fitted caps, and I'm like, 'Pops, you 60. You gotta chill.' Jay got that problem. He don't want to get old. It's cool to get old. But a lot of people have that problem, especially when they don't have children. But he don't got no children. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe he ain't fertile."

Lil Wayne's Rebirth album is not coming out next month as expected. It seems like Wayne is still working on it and has no confirmed release date. But the Wezzy fans will see enough of Wayne over the passing months anyway with the album releases from Cash Money artist and Young Money artist Drake ( and thats not including every remix that Wayne will be on). It seems that the Listening party was a good look for Mama Whitney. In attendance was Alica Keys and Swizz Beatz ( they are not even trying to hide anymore) who wrote and produced a song for Whitneys album "Million Dollar Bill". Also, L.A. Reid, Martha Stewart, Diane Sawyer and Clive Davis were there (Wow, thats a unique group of names to see together). Another person that wrote for the Album is "Mr. Piss on you" himslef, R.Kelly. He wrote 2 songs for the album and apparently they are hot. Every one at the listening party enjoyed Ms. Houstons album and i am sure you all will too.

Ok, i hope i am not the only one who forgot that Nivea and The Dream had kids. The Dream and Nivea have 3 kids together so it is only right to wonder how Dream fells about this new little bundle of joy that Nivea is carrying,which was made with Lil Wayne (he has been getting around). This is what the Dream had to say:
“I’ve never met him,” The Dream says of Lil Wayne. “We’re somewhere in the grey area I guess, coz we haven’t had the chance to talk. But I wish him and Nivea the best. If marriage comes up then we’ll definitely need to have a conversation. But right now we don’t need to, coz even though she’s pregnant, there’s no real commitment between them, to the point where we’d need to have a conversation.”

Speaking out for the first time since Michael Jackson' sudden death on June 25, the singer's sister LaToya Jackson, 53, is raising alarming allegations."Michael was murdered," LaToya claims in an exclusive interview with London newspaper the News of the World.
“We don't think just one person was involved in the murder," she added, refusing to name the people she believes are responsible for the death during her four-hour interview in L.A. “It was a conspiracy to get Michael's money."According to LaToya, Jackson himself always feared for his life. "A couple of years ago Michael told me he was worried that people were out to get him,” she told the paper. "He said, 'They're gonna kill me for my publishing. They want my catalogues and they're gonna kill me for these.' " In the months leading up to his London performances, Jackson told his sister that he was on a six-month detox to prepare for his comeback, but LaToya says she had other suspicions. I opened up my email this morning and got a breath of fresh Hip Hop air. The producer Rieces Pieces sent something to my email box that i was not expecting. It was a song with both of the genres that i love: Rock and Hip Hop. Pieces produced this wonderful record and this it was he had to say in the press release,

Ok, this post is not even about the Game and JayZ beef. I understand that you have to do what you have to do to stay relevant in this day and age.Also,verbal fights between rappers tend to happen during the time an album is about to be released(Blueprint 3). However, the thing that caught my attention was the angry chanting of " Old ass N*gga" by the Caucasians in the audience. As you see in the video The Game is leading the crowd (majority Caucasian) in chanting the slur,turned associative,turned slang word towards an African American man (JayZ). If you took a sound bite and a picture of an 1950s race rally, and compared it to the sound bite and picture of this concert, what would be the difference?What conclusion would you draw? Is this Ok?

Since it connects to your console's power cord, it can work with pretty much any system on the market. This however, is creating a timer parent instead of actual interaction between parent and child. Also not to mention but video games are positive tools for the development of children for instance it improves the reflexes, thinking process, and the hand eye coordination while in deep focus. With lyrics from artists like Talib, Jay-z, Common, Dread Prez, and a Tribe Called Quest (i miss this group) this album is defiantly one that you want to have to show off and to show your friends that you are a "Classy" hip hop listener. When I asked Ritchcraft where his style and influence comes from he states "...my influences expand from real gritty hip hop to disco, I try to expand what I listen to, so what I produce can be innovative and limitless." So whats next for these producers? "...I plan to continue to produce for some of the artists i've been working with, (Bruthaz n Armz, Coolera, Kayo) I know Qwest is down to start another project, whether its a remix album who knows, only time can tell!... One thing can be for certain though, there will be more projects, and i have a habit of scrapping anything that isn't dope, so you can be sure it'll be good music you can bump in your car, on your mp3 or ipod, or however you jam to music." They just think that She is not working, so they reportedly dropped her. Her album realesed in December and it has only sold 196,509 units. You all know that times in this economy are hard and they are even harder for the music industry. Brandy should hop on a mixtape, a reality show, and a red carpet to get back to the top!Because she has talent and we like her.

Reports are starting to come out and confirm that the McNair killings were a murder suicide. Police at the scene say that McNair was shot several times but the female was only shot once in the head, leading them to believe she shot McNair and then took her own life. Reports say that she was in love with Mcnair and was so sure that he was going to leave his wife that she sold everything that she owned in plans of moving in with him. It seems like a case of Fatal Attraction.

Steve McNair SHOT and KILLED in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident is being reported as either a double homicide or murder suicide, depending on the outlet. McNair, 36, was found to have died from a gunshot wound to the head. McNair was the third overall draft choice by the Tennessee Titans in 1995. He led the team to one Super Bowl and was named co-MVP in 2003. Steve McNair why him what did he do? Mystery?
Well, it seems that we have a lyrical beast on the scene!!!! Hellz Yea is coming hard on his mixtape titled "The Graveyard Shift" and he is telling all the fake rappers to take out a pen and pad and take some notes. The mixtape is introduced with a sample from the movie Taken letting you know about the lyrical ride that your about to take.Hellz hits you with hard verses in the track Handle My, like "This is more than an image. Don't call it a gimmick.If i want it i get it, all with no limits" and "and i'm such a verb because my actions go with my words". And the lyrical ride does not stop in that first track. Hellz Yea counties to hit the listener with heavy bars and takes samples from artist such as Jay-Z to enhance his message. However, even though the lyrical ability of Hellz Yea is clearly there, some tracks don't match up with the quality of the other songs in the beat department. Hellz Yea! is a Brooklyn, New York native who started emceeing at the age of 9 years old. Hellz Yea! heard his first hip hop record "Sucker Emcees" by Run DMC and became enamored by the Hip Hop culture, music, and dance moves. As a young MC, Hellz Yea! formerly known as Equinox or Knoxx, went thru many crews, groups and transitions. From battle MC, to positive rapper, to hardcore gangster rapper; Hellz was merely trying to find himself as many young black men from the "hood" try.
His first professional experience in the studio came by way of DR Period, music producer for M.O.P., Smoothe da Hustler, AZ, Nas and many others. As a producer Hellz Yea! has remixed some of the industry’s biggest hits including Akon's "I'm So Paid", Chris Brown’s “Wall 2 Wall”, “Speaker” [David Banner], Future Thugs [Redman], and Bedroom Boom [Avant] just to name a few. Hellz Yea! is currently an unsigned producer and artist building a catalogue of street anthems for Brooklyn and the east coast.

When watching the BET awards we all asked the same questions during the Drake performance. Why is he sitting down? Why are those little girls on stage? Lastly, what the hell is wrong with BET? Well, in a recent interview Drake dishes tha dirt and talks about his "4 million dollar deal" , that he says he didn't know he had. from complex:
Complex: There were rumors of a $4 million bonus… Drake: [Laughs] Where is it? Tell me where it is, I’ll go pick it up right now. I got some money. I got a little money. I’ll be alright for a couple months. Complex: Damn, that’s horrible. At the BET Awards this past Sunday, everyone was shocked to see you sitting on a stool. Did you ever think to yourself, Maybe I shouldn’t perform?
Drake: That, actually—to be honest—was a terrible idea that I’ll never do to myself again. [Laughs] But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes. I don’t think it called for us to perform “Every Girl” and “Always Strapped,” and I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-in-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne’s daughters and her friends coming out on stage…
Complex: Yeah, it really was an awkward moment.
Drake: Yeah, it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn’t planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it’s nothing we can’t bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn’t intended to offend anybody.
Complex: Watching it at home, the BET Awards seemed to be a mess. Did it seem that way in person?
Drake: Well, I can only speak for my portion of it. I had asked for something very specific for my performance and none of those were met, as far as production value, so…
Complex: That’s BET for you…
Drake: I understood my situation, as far as sitting in one place, and figured there was a way to make it interesting. But when I looked around and noticed that none of that was going on [laughs], I kind of just realized that it was going to be a loss for me. But at the end of the day, it is what it is.
